Knit and Pearl Podcast: Finished Object in depth with Left Hand Knitting Tips

Yarn is Barcelona Big, in Amethyst color way , 

Needle is US 10, 6mm Addi, 

What I did different then pattern.

I did not do color work, and it knits up like a comfy sweatshirt like fit. I also did not do the decreased at the waste since I was not doing the color work and I wanted the nice, roomy fit.

Short rows at back of neck: 

I used German short row for wrap and turn. There is a great tutorial by Very Pink Knits

Blocking Acrylic

 I use the steam method to block acrylic yarn projects. I usually steam block most projects because it helps to even out the stitched and I don't care for the rolling on the hem. 

Left handed knitting tips:

This pattern has the K2TG and SSK on the sleeve decreases, and I flipped them to have a nice decrease line.

I will insert a short video at end to show the difference in flipping or knitting as pattern is written.

Yarn I Used: I Love This Yarn, by Hobby Lobby

Colors: 

220/ Coffee- Used half the skien

160/ Brown - used little over one skien

20/ Ivory Used half a skien

797/ Light Taupe used half a skien

Needles

US 7, 4.5mm for ribbing

US 9, 5.5mm for rest of sweater.

What I did different then pattern.

I used worsted weight yarn instead of the DK weight the pattern called for, and also bigger needles, so I choose to knit the size Medium to compensate. I normally would knit an x large or 2xl.

I also knit the sleeves longer then pattern to cover my wings, LOL

Short rows at back of neck: 

I used German short row for wrap and turn. There is a great tutorial by Very Pink Knits

Blocking Acrylic 

I use the steam method to block acrylic yarn projects. And with this project I streamed it inside out then right side out to even out some pucker in color work. 

Left handed knitting tips:

After I cast on, I usually knit a row in pattern before I start knitting in the round, otherwise I get purl bumps at front of work. easy to sort out when weaving in ends. 

When reading color work charts, since I knit left to right, I start the chart going Left to right.

If pattern contains knit 2 together with a corresponding slip slip knit,  Left handed knitters need to 

Slip Slip knit, then knit 2 together. 

It will work to do what pattern say, but you will get a lot nicer finish if you do the flip of the K2TG, and SSK.

Story of the Week and Stash Enhancement Thank you to the people who helped me with the Hats for the Military, I believe we got 41 hats. Sorry It took so long for me to record, but life and Low MOJO. 

The house had a bout of the Rona, we are all fine. Ted spent 3 days in Hospital, Praise Be to God for His watchful Protection. 

Work is fair, I have low hours, and might not have a job after the 14th of Feb, if mandate holds, and they dont except my religious exemption. 

I got a Addi King size Knitting Machine for Christmas and have a few things to show.

Story of the Week and Stash Enhancement surprise, Got some Ice Yarn stash. 

I have been doing a lot of crochet. It seems to settle me right now, and also, I am simple doing what I want. I see a project, and I look at stash and say, yes, lets do this thang. 

I have been off my eatting plan and have gained alittle back, but you guys, thing are very crazy and work is stressful, and i want sugar. 

If things don't change, I will be looking for a new job, because I am not a sheep.

Story of the Week and Stash Enhancement     I has been over a month. Work has been busy as well as disjointed, and I am not happy in it.  I also feel there are spirits at war right now and it has affected me mentally and spiritually, and has been weighing me down. I'm sure i am not the only one feeling this.

Story of the Week and Stash Enhancement It was a busy month with a lot of thing preventing me from doing a podcast update. The week I had planned to do a podcast we had company in the house and a Celabration of Live for Teds Brother who passed away from Covid. But I am still here working away on projects. 

My work has picked up a little, which is good. Don't know for how long, but we a okay right now. God is always good to His Children.

Story of the Week and Stash Enhancement What a busy, health issue 2 weeks it has been. My heart cath came back totally clean, got the monitor done, but have heard no report. Ted spent the night in hospital on Sunday with back pain. All reports are that it is a pulled muscle. 

Got some stash and a finished object that is off to a great niece. Pictures will be included. 

Work is very slow. I am working only 2.5 hrs daily on good days. I have applied for a few jobs, that will be lower pay, but i think I will be happier in them. This last year I have learned to make do on less.

I didn't mention last time but I have been doing a lot of crocheting because I enjoy it but also because of Crochet in May by KristyGlassKnits.

Story of the Week and Stash Enhancement  I have some stash. It was my Birthday. Got some Ice Yarn and some Hobby Lobby yarn.

A week ago thursday I had my Stress Echo, and got this monitor put on. On Friday the Dr called and said their was irregular findings from Echo, so I am having a heart cath and possible stent placement on Monday.

Work schedule has been low this week , not great on checkbook but a blessing because of all the health stuff. keep me in your thoughts and prays. Will post on Ravelry group and possibly insta to let you all know what's up.
